• Go on your honeymoon & enjoy married life!
  • Write, address, and send out thank you cards – try to get this done within three months of the wedding
  • Write vendor reviews on sites such as:
    • Google
    • The Knot
    • Wedding Wire
    • Forever Bride
  • Change your name
    • Social Security
      • Fill out this form: https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf
      • Bring the completed form and your official, signed marriage certificate to the nearest Social Security office. Allow at least an hour (the wait time is ridiculous… yay for bureaucracy…)
    • Once you receive the information back from the SS office, go to the DMV to change your Driver’s License
    • Change your name on your credit cards and billing statements
      • Decide with your husband how/when/if you’ll combine bank accounts. Josh and I love the app Mint from Intuit. It effortlessly tracks our spending, saving, and income in an easy-to-understand layout.
  • Make/order a wedding book! Shutterfly and Walgreens usually have good monthly/seasonal deals. It’s always more special to have a tangible keepsake of your special day.

So what did I miss? Brides-to-be and/or new wives, please let me know what you think – I always appreciate feedback!
